Returning the Skyhawk to Ohakea this time 🙂
Took off from Wigram amongst heavy trainer traffic with 2500lb’s of fuel on board. Blasted out into the training area and harassed some CT4’s before tanking over Pegasus Bay with a KC-10. With the tanks topped off it was up to 40,000ft for the cruise up the coast, culminating in a supersonic descent (ok… maybe "dive" would be more accurate… but the mach meter read 1.07 passing 20,000ft!) before joining the ILS 27 approach for Ohakea. During finals I spotted the historic flight Harvard doing a touch and go on the grass, and decided I needed to see it flying, so after a touch and go joined on the Harvard for a couple of photos… A great nights flying, and another 1.0 hours in the logbook 🙂
