So my Round-The-World plan has gone a little astray…

Since starting to plan the trip, the 737 has been boring holes in the sky, and has gone most of the way around the world already!

I had installed some new software, and in testing it had sent the sim out flying across the Pacific… if you scroll back through the posts you’ll see a sunset shot as we crossed the Chilean coast.  Since then it was onward to Ascension Island,

Wideawake on Ascension

then across Africa and the Middle East to Ras Al Khaimah, an old stomping ground for the PacSim team.

Back in RAK

Leaving RAKFrom RAK it was out into the Indian Ocean and Diego Garcia..Diego Garcia Approach

From there we’ll continue East for Australia, landing at RAAF Pearce, just North of Perth.  Pearce is another old stomping ground for me!  I spent many hours flying, and instructing with RAAFVirtual in PC-9’s and Hawk 127’s in and around Pearce.

In my continuing search for the perfect panel setup for the sim, I found a new, all XML 737 Classic panel.  Though it is not the prettiest I have seen, it is definitely the most functional freeware classic panel I’ve found.

New Panel
The best part about this panel is that I can interact with most of it’s custom code via LUA scripts.  What this means is that I should be able to make the panel components integrate with my hardware, and give a much more complete experience!   The other really good news is that the Nav Display will work seamlessly with EasyFMS from Eric Marciano!  Another very large tick for the panel!
